Shirley Jane Temple (1928 – 2014) The most famous wonder child in the history of cinema, ‘Hollywood’s First Child’. Was born in Santa Monica, California. And when she was a few months old she discovered unusual talents. She began to take dance lessons when she was only 3 years old. Her film career began when a director of “Educational Pictures” visited her in dance lessons. Although she hid behind the piano in the studio, she was chosen by the director who invited her to the audition, and finally signed a contract with Educational, and worked with them from 1932 to 1933. It was the first time in history that a young girl managed to drift so much audiences into the cinema. Temple soon became a global success thanks to her high acting ability as a child who amazed all her viewers, and thanks to her talent for dancing and her kindness. When she was just 6 years old, Temple won an honorary Oscar and thus became the youngest ever winner of this prestigious Oscar. The years 1933-1938 were her glory years. After growing up, Temple left the film industry and embarked on a career in politics as the US ambassador to various countries.
