Postcard with Marc Chagall’s Purim painting, published by A.D.A.G.P. Paris. On the postcard is a dedication in Chagall’s handwriting and signature: “À la famille Liberty en amitié” – “To the Liberty family, in friendship”. The postcard was attached to Mishloach Manot that Chagall sent to the family on Purim.

(The original painting was done in the technique of oil on canvas between the years 1916-1917 and was confiscated by the Nazis as part of the boycotts of Jewish works looted by the in the 1930s and was intended for burning as defined by them as ‘Entartete Kunst’ [‘degenerate art]’, but was actually saved by the Jew Kurt Valentin who bought it (among 650 other items) from the Nazi merchant Karl Buchholz , And emigrated to New York afterwards. Today The original painting display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the United States).
