A young man and woman – the young man is dressed in a long coat and skullcap; the woman wears a silk dress with lace. Photographer: Piotr Mieczkowski – photography studio of Piotr Mieczkowski, 5 Pańska Street, Lemberg (then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, today Lviv, Ukraine). At the time, Lemberg was a major cultural center of Galician Jewry, home to a large Jewish community, both religious and enlightened. 17×11 cm. Very good condition.
Two men – the seated figure is an Orthodox Jew with a long beard, wearing a traditional coat and a tall fur hat. Standing beside him is a younger man, likely his son or student, dressed in a fitted Western-style suit, with a tie and a bowler hat – typical of Jewish attire in the late 19th century. Photographed at Fotografia Artystyczna in Łódź, during the years when the city was one of the largest Jewish centers in Poland, with a vibrant cultural life. 17×11 cm. Minor edge flaws. Good condition.
