Letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach. In his letter, The Gaon refers to the writings of the Gaon Rabbi Waldenberg [author of the “Tzitz Elazar”] in his book Hilkhot Medina, concerning someone who does not go up to the Torah or who does not recite Birkat Hamazon, which is a curse. And he writes that the reason for being punished is because he scorns and slaps a thing that adds blessing and life to him, and therefore he is punished for it. And from the commentaries Rabbi Shlomo Zalman on the matter written by Rabbi Waldenberg in his book concerning a boycott and oath that were sworn or pledged by the authorities to an infiltrator or a murderer. Hence he wanted to conclude that the oath also required the voters who elected the members of the Knesset. Those who chose them. In the margins of the words, he added: “At the same time I invite him to participate in my joy,” and his signature.
