A 100 Yugoslavian dinar banknote (based on the original issued in 1929) issued in Yugoslavia on January 26, 1944, under Nazi occupation, designed to defy the occupation. Rare.
On the banknote before us, instead of “100 dinar, ” it reads 100 LJUDI – “100 People, ” with Serbian text stating: “These deserters come willingly; they should be given priority for processing and brought to the nearest German officer.” On the front, it is written: “Guarantee for 100 people to desert with weapons.” In the lower right corner, there is a German swastika eagle and the serial number M1493. The banknote was initiated by Yugoslav resistance activists as an act of defiance against the German occupation and to encourage resistance efforts.
16.5×10 cm. Stains. No tears. Good-moderate condition.
