Above a photograph of each of them is a short biography about him, and below it is a quote from things he said in which he testifies that Dreyfus is guilty of treason. The announcement was made by Dreyfus's opponents at a time when cracks were beginning to appear in Dreyfus' accusation of treason after it became known that Henri had forged an important document, and after Esterhazy's escape.
Photographs of five generals appear, and their words: General Zurlinden - "The in-depth study of Dreyfus's legal case has convinced me too much of his guilt for me, as head of the army, to accept any solution other than that of preserving the judgment in its entirety.", General Billot - "Dreyfus is guilty! Dreyfus He's a traitor!", General Chanoine: "My opinion agrees with the opinions of those who accuse Dreyfus", General Mercier - "According to notes in my possession, it was revealed to me that an officer in my office passed documents to a foreign force... I arrested him." Mr. Cavaignac - "I am absolutely sure of Dreyfus's guilt."
