Large collection of about 80 personal documents of the Jew Szarfer lejzor Hirsz. Hirsz, a Polish Jew who went through an inconceivable course during the years of World War II and even before it. First, he served in the International Brigade in the Spanish Civil War that took place between 1936-1939. (It is rare to find Jews who participated in this war), during the years of World War II he first fought with the Polish army, then joined the British army, was captured and sent to a labor camp in southeastern Algeria, and was released at the end of the war. In the file before us are many personal documents of Hirsz from these three fateful periods in his life. Important and rare archive.

Among the documents appearing in the file: a certificate of appreciation for his participation in the Second War of Independence of Spain which was attached to the International Brigade medal - 1938, 4 Polish passport certificates - three of Hirsz from different periods, and one of his wife, a membership card of a soldier in the Spanish Brigade, a memorial badge for the Jews of Paris who were shot - printed on photographic paper, a Polish naturalization certificate that Hirsch received in July 1938, a photograph of Hirsch and his friend in a French concentration camp, certificates of excellence for his service in the British army April 19, 1946, certificates and documents related to the period of his stay in a concentration camp in Algeria, various documents after the war in the 50s and 60s dealing with rights that were due to him after the war as a concentration camp survivor of him and his wife, and many more.

Overall very good condition.
