Press photographer Hans Haim Finn [1916-1978] one of the pioneers of photojournalism in Israel. Filmed for close to forty years for AP agencies and newspapers. His photographs are characterized by a wide field of view of the events he has documented. Finn was born in the fall of 1916 in Berlin. He studied photo montage with John Hartfield and saw himself as the spiritual student of Erich Salomon, the father of journalism photo. He immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1938. After his release from the British army during World War II, he began to do news photography. He documented prominent chapters in the history of the Yishuv's struggle against British rule, the immigration of illegal immigrants, as well as important events that he attended thanks to a mandatory photojournalist certificate. Of his most prominent photographs: "Altelana" goes up in flames near the coast of Tel Aviv (historical photograph showing the tragedy as life continues to flow as usual.
