Two dollar bills given by the Rebbe in the third candle of Hanukkah 1978.
The recipient of the banknotes, a resident of the Romema neighborhood in Jerusalem, came to the United States to arrange some matters. In those months, he supervised the expansion and renovation of a mikveh in the Sorotskin street of Jerusalem. He told, when he came to the hitvadut with the Rebbe he stood in line like everyone else to get a dollar. When it was his turn the Rebbe gave him a dollar, and when he turned to go the Rebbe motioned for him to return and gave him another dollar, saying, "This one is for the success of the mikveh", without hinting to the Rebbe in a single word that he was engaged in a mikveh expansion project in those months! Amazingly!
