A rare and early photograph of Rabbi Yechezkel Levinstein, the Mashgiach of Mir and Ponivez.

The righteous Ga'on Rabbi Yechezkel Levinstein (1885-1974), one of the greatest of the Mussar movement. A student at the Kalem Yeshiva. Spiritual director of the Mir Yeshiva in Poland, Shanghai and Jerusalem. After the death of Rabbi Dessler, he was appointed spiritual director of the Ponivezh Yeshivah in Bnei Brak. A holy and righteous man, known for his devotion to G-d and his detachment from the pleasures of this world (never seen him leaning on the back of the chair). His blessings and prayers were fruitful and many were saved in his blessings. During the Holocaust in the escape journey of the Mir Yeshiva in Vilna and the Far East, his students saw in a tangible way that his decisions and blessings were outside the natural way, from his conversations the books were printed: "Or Yechezkel", "Imrei Yehezkel", "Avodat Yehezkel" and more.

Size: 17x11 cm. Glued to the photographer's hard substrate.
