Every boys book of railways and steamships, by Ernest Protheroe - an important book about trains and steamships, accompanied by 4 color photo plates, 62 black and white photo plates. Published by THE RELIGIOUS TRACT SOCIETY. London - 1911 - First edition. rare. On the flyleaf, a dedication from parents to their son "with great love", dated - November 5, 1911.

A thick book, written for young in easy language, and deals with the various models of trains and steamships. Accompanied by dozens of rare photo plates of many types of trains and steamships from the leading and best in the world as of the beginning of the 20th century. In the plate after page 282 a rare photo of the Titanic before it sank about a year later in 1912, below the photo a description of the ship's specifications: "white star line R.M.S. "OLYMPIC" - the largest vessel in the world - 882 feet long, 45,000 tons gross register and 66,000 tons displacement. Launched October, 1910; maiden voyage June, 1911 - White Star Line R.M.S. "OLYMPIC" (The Olympic was the model of the Titanic itself, with final additions before it set off on a journey from which never returned).
