HaMevaser, [Hebrew weekly], for the promotion of Hebrew- Sphardic literature, edited by Shmuel Hochberg. 64 issues from the first and second year. Constantinople, 1909-1911. An important collection of early and rare issues published in Turkey in the Hebrew language.

• First year: Issues No. 1-52. Tevet 1909 - Tevet 1911.

• Second year: Issues 1-12 and 15. Tevet - Nissan 1911.

At the beginning of the first issue, an introduction titled "Megamatenu" (Our Trend) appears, in which it is written, "This weekly... will strive for national Hebrew revival between Eastern Jews and serve our Sephardic brothers... as a bridge to the new Hebrew literature... it will awaken love for our language and all our national symbols among the masses of Sephardim... it will endeavor to cultivate in them the aspiration for original oriental Hebrew creations". The various issues regularly dealt with the revival of Sephardim, the rabbinate in Turkey, educational houses among Ottoman Jews, the revival of the Hebrew language among Jews in Turkey, Sphardic, Ashkenaz, and more. Some of the issues featured rare photographs of Turkish and Israeli Jewry.

Volume of the first year's issues: 26 cm. The issues of the first year are bound together, with their covers (except for the first issue). The issues of the second year are kept in an old cardboard binding, and each issue appears separately. Overall good condition. Some issues have stains. Some pages detached. Ex libris of "The book collection of Yehuda Lieb HaCohen (Fishman)". Former library copies.
