Lehrschau-Bogen - double-sided "teaching sheet" no. 13, Berlin, 1940 - So kämpft Die Infanterie - "This is how the infantry fights" - a poster of photographs on behalf of the teachers' union of the Reich government, for teaching purposes - photographs and drawings of the activities of the German infantry on the battlefield - the first photograph of Wehrmacht soldiers marching through the conquered streets of Warsaw.
The poster presents the weapons of the German Infantry and provides an explanation about each of the weapons and the way in which the German army uses them. Alongside the explanations, there are photographs of SS soldiers in operational activity. On the back of the poster are two photographs, one described as: "Parade in front of the leader in Warsaw, at the beginning of the battle in Poland the infantry presented a flawless picture of discipline", in the second, target practice. Beneath them is a large drawing describing the various lines of attack of the infantry. In the center is a heroic description of the unit's activity: "In the tough school of the barrack yard and shooting range, in the military training ground, the recruit grows into a regular infantryman and a skilled fighter. There individual recruits are welded together to form a cohesive community. The railways, the motorized vehicles and the trail take the infantry further into the battlefield than the compressed drawing can show you. The artillery and heavy weapons of the infantry - the heavy machine guns, the heavy grenade launchers and the infantry guns - the carriages and the fighter planes pave the way. They disrupt the enemy's defenses, paralyze their firepower and give the riflemen the opportunity to get close to the enemy. There they broke the last resistance with their light weapons (machine guns, light grenade launchers) and hand grenades... forces trained to achieve victory...".
