Menachem Begin's book 'HaMered' published by 'Ahiasaf' - third edition - 1957. On the inside page of the cover An official leaf of a "Member of Knesset" was affixed with a dedication in the handwriting and signature of Menachem Begin:"To my brothers from Moshav Nordia, ahead of the decade leading up to the victory of the uprising and the revival of Israel in honor of M. Begin."

The words of the dedication appear in the introduction written by Begin to this edition of the book, which he opens with the words: "This edition of the Book of Memoirs will appear towards the decade to the victory of the revolt and the resurrection of Israel. It must be emphasized again that the connection between these two events is cause and effect ..."

The settlement of Nordia in the Sharon was established in November 1948 by members of the Betar youth movement and Irgun soldiers who served in the army units in the British army during World War II. The name of the settlement was named after Max Nordau, who was one of the fathers of the Zionist movement. Begin had a warm relationship with the Yishuv, and he used to come and participate in his events (see, for example, an article in the Herut newspaper dated 6/14/1959, which reports on a speech Begin gave at the Yishuv on the tenth anniversary of its existence, and the content of the speech).

Missing title page. Hardcover with original dust jacket. Slight tears in the dust jacket. Good condition.
