Srulik - Four printed leaves with cartoons by Dosh.
Srulik or israelik (The same pronunciation, when it is an Ashkenazi nickname for "Israel") is a cartoon character symbolizing Israel, created by caricaturist and illustrator Dosh (Carial Gardosh), a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to Israel from Hungary, who appeared for many years in caricatures published in "Maariv" newspaper. Many noted Srulik's antithesis of the anti-Semitic cartoons that appeared in 'de Sturmer' and in European and Arab newspapers. Against the stereotype of Joseph Goebbels' weak and cynical Jew, Dosh, the Holocaust survivor, designed a proud and courageous Jew.
