Italy was the main entry point for Jewish refugees in Europe on their way to Israel at the end of World War II. In Rome, there was active activity by aid organizations for the DPs. In it, the representatives of the volunteers established the "Center for the Diaspora" where they provided care for all the displaced people and provided them with shelter, food, medicine, clothing, education for their children, learning the Hebrew language and comprehensive preparation for life in the Land of Israel.
