The Life and History of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Depot, translated from English by Asher Barash. Shoshani, Jaffa [1921].
This is his first Hebrew translation from the original and complete edition of the famous book by Depot (first published in English in 1719) under this name. He was preceded by the first of the translators of the well-known Hebrew book Yitzhak Ben Moshe Romesh, which was published under the name "Kur oni" in the 1870s.
From the translator's words in the introduction 'The first edition of Robinson Crusoe appeared in 1719, and since then has published in the book hundreds of expenses and translations in all languages of Europe. In Hebrew, too, the book is not new today. The first works according to a German translation, and after that a free translation was translated into German by Yitzhak Romesh, named 'kur oni', but now there has not been a complete and responsible translation from the original. This translation was done out of the nearly complete expense of Ward Locke and Comp.'
