Norman Hunter (born October 29, 1943) was the first English 'footballer of the year' to win the 1973/74 season. Hunter stood out in Leeds United successful football team in the 1960s and 1970s. Hunter led the England national team in the 1966 World Cup tournament and was a partner in winning the trophy. It is included in the list of 100 English League football legends. Hunter who became known for a tough and uncompromising game was nicknamed "biting", following a sign waved by Leeds fans during the 1972 FA Cup final [photographed before us] against Arsenal in which Leeds won. He played in the team uniform for about 14 years, from 1962 to 1976, during which he won two championships in England, the FA Cup and the League Cup. In the following season, Leeds co-starred in the 1975 European Cup final.
