An early sculpture of the renowned German composer Ludwig van Beethoven [1770-1827]. Europe, 19th century.

Provenance: The estate of the Italian Jewish Philosopher and Jewish Composer Theodor Ludwig Wiesengrund Adorno (1903-1969). Adorno is considered a prominent member of the Frankfurt School, which includes personalities such as Max Horkheimer, Herbert Marcuse, Walter Benjamin, Leo Leventhal, Jürgen Habermas and Erich Fromm. Studied in Frankfurt and Vienna. With the rise of the Nazis to power in Germany he emigrated to England and then to the United States. At the end of World War II he returned to Germany, and headed the Institute for Social Research at the University of Frankfurt.

Cast material. Height: 24 cm. Maximum width: 13 cm. 760 g. Slight defects on the back. Good condition.
