Strauss' monumental book on the landscapes of biblical lands. Strauss [1817-1888], the founder of the "Jerusalem Association". He toured the Near East and Palestine between 1844 and 1846. This book documenting the results of his journey is one of the most popular travel books published in the mid-19th century, and by 1882 it had been published in 11 different editions. The book is accompanied by many extremely high quality engravings of palestine cities and its landscapes, most of them in color.
