LIVRE BLANC SUR BUCHENWALD - 'The White Book on Buchenwald' - Paris, published by 'Éditions de la déportation et de la résistance', c.1950s - a copy of the Nazi hunter Shimon Wiesenthal, His signature on the title page.

A detailed report containing hundreds of testimonies, documents, and facsimiles about what happened in the Buchenwald death camp in the last months before his release, compiled by a special French committee after the war. In the report before us, the testimonies of survivors from all walks of life were collected - soldiers captured by the Nazis, Jews from all walks of life, collaborators with the Nazi regime from various nationalities, Allied soldiers from the camp liberators who described the harsh sights that were revealed to their eyes, and the condition of the last surviving camp inmates, and those who died, and more. The report is based on testimonies obtained at special post-war meetings to which disposable documents were brought, and testimonies from survivors who participated in them. There is ample evidence related to the French resistance movement, and in Marcel Paul's views, interesting evidence of the alleged preference of Red Cross soldiers of different nationalities at the time of the camp's liberation, and more. In the open of each page on the left is the a photo of the original document, and on the right side is a print copy of the document.

As a Holocaust survivor, Simon Wiesenthal (1908-2005) devoted his life to gathering and documenting information about Nazi war criminals in order to prosecute them. Wiesenthal's method of work was based on the careful collection of every possible piece of paper and item of information about the criminals, the concentration and documentation of the material in his humble offices in Vienna, and its transfer to the appropriate authorities for detection and extradition proceedings. Wiesenthal was able to prosecute more than 1,100 war criminals who were responsible for mass murders during the Holocaust.
