An early Missionary letter for the benefit of the holy institutions in Jerusalem, signed by the great rabbis of Jerusalem, Ashkenaz and Sephard, headed by Rabbi Yaakov Yehuda Leib Levi. Jerusalem 1868.

The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yehuda Leib Levi was born in 1813 to his father Rabbi Avraham the brother of Rabbi Nahum from Shadik. His brothers are Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Levi, Aba"d Zlatachov, Rabbi Asher Lamil Levi Aba"d Galin and at the end of his life Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Nahum Levi, Aba"d Shadik Author of Avnei Kodesh and Rabbi Yisrael Levi. The Jews of Poznan used to call them "Five Pentateuchs of the Torah". He studied with the late Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Lifshitz, the owner of "Hemdat Shlomo". After his marriage, he began to serve as the rabbi of Shalashin. After immigrating to Eretz Israel, he served for decades as Rabbi of Jerusalem. All his leaderships were according to the Ar"i.
He used to study all days of the week in the synagogue, where they would bring him the necessities of eating, Only on Saturdays, he would return home. Rabbi Yaakov Leib established the "Kupat Rabbi Meir Baal Hanes" Kolel Poland and headed it, and also served as president of the "General Committee". Died on Elul, 1889. His innovations were printed in the book "Beit LaAvot".

(Among other, signed Rabbi Avraham Eisenstein - born in Poland in 1800, one of the builders of the first neighborhoods in Jerusalem. Died in 1886).
