Eretz Israel in Picture with Explanations, Altnayland Press. Warsaw, 1920 - Early Photos from Eretz Israel.
Early publication in Warsaw to "market" the land of Israel to the Warsaw public. The purpose of the advertisers was to bring to the attention of the Diaspora the development of settlement in palestine and to stimulate immigration. In 34 photographs and a map of the Land of Israel printed on chromo paper, the publisher illustrates the evolving reality of the 1920s-era Eretz Yisrael. Fascinating photographs depicting the homes of Warsaw in Jerusalem, the wine cave in Zichron Yaacov, the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, soldiers at the Western Wall during World War I, members of the HeChaluts movement in the Jaffa port and more. The last page shows a detailed description of each photograph by A. J. Trivax.
