Letter in the handwriting and signature of Moshe Sharet from the last period of his life. Written to Baruch about the way he described the 'Degania affair' in his book, dated: January 22, 1960.
In his letter, Sharett comments on a essay published by Baruch: "The whole story, in its parts, and its shades, is a result of a single memory - truly amazing. The spirit of the description is imbued with a deep cordiality that instills in the reader the atmosphere of time and puts him into the face of the soul life of single people of virtue ... Precisely because of your complete psychic identification with the "operation" and the place ... every detail you remember for yourself ... ". Sharett advises him to cut things short, to call "Abraham Eisenstein" by his name, without the addition of "Mr.", and congratulates him on the mental satisfaction of actually taking things from memory to writing, and testifies on himself that actions in which he himself was a partner in the 'Degania affair' were forgotten from him. At the end of the letter, Sharett signed his name briefly: "Yours, Moshe."
Sharett was close to literature and an ardent supporter of preserving the values of the Hebrew language, and his eloquent speeches are known for their rich language. To his credit are many Hebrew words that he managed to introduce into the Hebrew language. According to Sharett himself, he renewed "about thirty to forty language innovations."
