Four photographs of students and teachers in Zionist educational institutions in the town of Dąbrowica. Eastern Europe between the two world wars.
1. A photograph of preschool teacher Leah Castellanz (קסטלנץ) and the kindergarten children from the "Tarbut" movement in the town. One of the children is holding a sign in Hebrew saying: "Gan Yeladim Tarbut". Leah Castellantz and her soon-to-be husband, Shmuel Salzman immigrated to Israel at the beginning of 1922. Later on they would be the parents of the famous pianist Pnina Salzman, their youngest son Yair fell in the War of Independence. On the back of the photograph is a dedication by Leah Castellanz to Shmuel Salzman (her future husband): "To eternal memory and legacy the cultural office by the second Zionist Committee Dabrowica for Shmuel Salzman for his outstanding work in the field of Hebrew education and culture, from the cultural ministry by the second committee in Dabrowica, 25th of Nisan. Director Leah Castellanzz, Secretary M. Gerstein". with the ink stamp of the office "Tarbut" Dabrowica branch. 9x14 cm. Cracks. Good Condition.
2-4. Three photographs of the Hebrew school and kindergarten in the town, founded in 1917. During the peak periods, hundreds of students attended the school. 1. Group photograph of the students of the "Tarbut" school in Dabrowica - 1932. 2. The kindergarten in Dabrowica, 1931. 3. Secretary (- principal) "Tarbut" school, M. (Moses) Gerstein.
