SOUVENIR De La Maison des Morts - lE MASSACRE DES JUIF - documents inedits sur les camps d'extermination - Memories from the House of the Dead - The massacre of the Jews. Unpublished documents on extermination camps, early disclosure of testimonies of prisoners who managed to escape from Auschwitz on the Nazi extermination plant. Published by L. SIMON. Paris, 1945 - First edition. French.

Detailed testimony given by three inmates who managed to escape from Auschwitz, one by a Polish officer who was imprisoned in the camp for about 3 years, and the other by two Jewish inmates who stayed for two years in Auschwitz-Birkenau, and in Majdanek and managed to escape. The horrific things were first published only a few months after the camp was liberated. A detailed description of the Nazi extermination machine inside the camp includes six accurate drawings of the camp - the gas chambers, the crematoria, the barracks, the electric fence and the rest of the facilities. The two describe in detail the daily occurrence from their arrival at the camp on the night of April 13, 1942 in traveling wagons together with thousands of Jews. The process of changing the clothes into prisoner clothes and marking them in triangles according to gender, the narrator's tattoo on the arm, and the immediate infection in the malaria disease that raged in the camp. One of the testimonies was given by a prisoner who witnessed the mass murder in the gas chambers, and he details the whole process: entering the gas chambers and deceiving when the entrants are sure they enter the bath given a towel and a small bar of soap, pouring gas from the chimney by the SS man, and death as he describes: "After three minutes all life in the room ceased, we never found anyone who at the time of opening the door after the gentle gas spill, gave a signal of life", ventilating the room and preparing it for the next massacre. He also describes in detail how the crematoria worked, the mass killings, torture, suicide attempts of the prisoners, etc. Among other things, the prisoner describes one of the most difficult events he witnessed - the mass murder of a large group of girls who arrived from Slovakia in mid-August 1942, and reports At the time of the testimony (mid-1944) that "about 400 girls are still alive in Auschwitz", and more.

In the introduction, the publisher writes: "We sound the last warning cry and publish to the public documents exposing what is happening in the death camps in Silesia, these reports ... given by eyewitnesses who miraculously managed to escape and save themselves from this helle ... were carefully selected and carefully verified. .. The testimonies refer to the smallest details in the methods of extermination of hundreds of thousands of Jews taken to the extermination camps from all over Europe ... hope that the documents revealed here will be used to open the eyes of all those who do not yet know ... and the enormous injustice done against the Jewish people will be righted, guaranteeing them human living conditions and free development in all countries and on their own land ... ".

At the end of the book there is evidence from the minutes of the Kharkov trial against the Nazi criminal Hans who worked under the command of Rudolf Hess in which he describes the method of killing in the "gas cars" in various places, even before the gas chambers in the camps.
