An interesting letter in which the Rebbe Rayatz details his physical condition "For about five years now, walking has been difficult for me" which does not affect his study and writing "But thank G-d, studying and writing does not burden me and I work diligently..." Typewritten with handwritten signature of the Rebbe Rayatz. Brooklyn, 1945.
The letter is addressed to Rabbi Fischel. In the first part, the Rebbe Rayatz blesses his household and Tova, the wife of Rabbi Fischel, writing: "Tova is her name and Tova (good) shall she be, physically and spiritually, and may she raise them in Torah, chuppah and good deeds with happiness and satisfaction physically and spiritually". Further on he details his health condition: "Regarding my health condition, thank G-d I am able to engage in my work of studying and writing. For about five years now, walking has been difficult for me. Thank G-d my feet are not swollen or painful, but it is hard for me to walk even a few steps, and from time to time speaking loudly or at length has also become difficult, but thank G-d studying and writing does not burden me and I work diligently. My constant doctors are Dr. Wilder who visits me regularly and Prof. Elias, and may Hashem send me healing physically and spiritually". And the handwritten signature of the Rebbe Rayatz.
