The Holy Rebbe Rabbi Israel Friedman of Hussiatin (1857-1948) The second Rebbe of the Hussiatin Chassidut, an elder of the Rebbe of Beit Ruzin, the last grandson of Rabbi Israel of Ruzin. It is named after his grandfather, Rabbi Israel Friedman of Ruzin, who died seven years earlier. On the 22nd of Iyar 1894, his father died and he was appointed under him as the second rebbe of the Hussiatin Hasidim. At the outbreak of World War I he was among the rebbe of Hasidism from the House of Ruzin and their followers who traveled to Vienna, and established the city as his place of residence even after the First World War, but used to travel to visit his followers in Galicia. In 1937, the level of anti-Semitism in Austria and throughout Europe rose following Hitler's rise to power four years earlier. With the rise of anti-Semitism, the Rebbe urged his followers to flee Europe and immigrate to Eretz Israel. In 1937 he immigrated to Eretz Israel to Tel Aviv. It is known about the incident in which he prayed on the tomb of the "Orach Hayim" in the presence of the Kabbalists at the time of the fear that the Nazi army under Rommel would win on the Egyptian front and from there reach the extermination of the inhabitants of Eretz Israel. Died in Tel Aviv on Hanukkah 1949 and rested in Tiberias.
