Stammeskunde Der Juden; Die Judischen Stamme Der Erde in Alter Und Neuer Zeit, Hisorisch-Anthropologische Skizzen - Tribal studies of the Jews; The Jewish tribes of the earth in ancient and modern times - a comprehensive study of the Jews of the East by Dr. Sigmund Feist (1865-1943) - rare photographs of the Jews of Yemen and North Africa.

A comprehensive study of the ancient origins of the Jews of Yemen and North Africa by the German-Jewish researcher Sigmund Feist. In his book he traces the language spoken among the Jewish communities in North Africa, their clothing, customs, places of residence, the special shape of the houses of the Jews, the migration of the Jews from place to place, their roots, and more.

A significant part of the book is dedicated to the Jews of Yemen - and their historical establishment in the Arabian Peninsula. According to the author, Yemenite Jews are the true and direct descendants of the ancient Hebrew ancestors. Relying on observations made in the residential areas of Yemenite Jews around the year 1900, the author characterizes this Judaism in great detail: the Yemenite body structure, the special clothing of Yemenite Jews, their special customs such as changing their clothing from black to white on Shabbat, changing their long robes when leaving the Jewish Quarter, and even combing their hair in different shapes changed according to the hours of the day. In addition, he details about the eating utensils of Yemenite Jews, the special pots, the method of cooking, the wooden utensils they used for cooking, the method of brewing coffee, the way in which the Yemenites used to shower, and more. The author also reviews the Jewish craftsmen in Yemen, the professions What they did for a living, their expertise in different fields, and more. The author writes that the talents of the Yemeni Jew are those that give him a place of honor even in the eyes of the non-Jewish population, and that the amazing ability to preserve the Yemeni tradition is connected to the strong nucleus of the united Yemeni family, which is unmatched by any other community.

At the end of the book, 38 plates with dozens of photographs of North African Jews, including many rare photographs of Sana'a and Yemeni Jews in general, in their traditional clothing.
