The headline is actually a summary of remarks by Ben-Gurion published on the title page under the headline: " The Jewish state exists and will continue to exist if we know how to defend it", in which Ben-Gurion outlines and establishes the Zionist leadership's agenda shortly before the declaration of independence: "The establishment of the Jewish state was not dependent on the UN's November 29 decision... but rather on our ability to decide by force in the land through our own power - if we want and manage to mobilize our full capability, the state will rise again... We will not accept any foreign rule and whatever happens, we will stand for the quickest possible termination of the British rule and its immediate exit from the land. And we will strengthen security even more. All our efforts, means, capabilities, people and property - are sacred for security, the Jewish state exists and will continue to exist... Our political plan is as it was a year ago, as it was six months ago, in three sections and in the order I am listing them: security, a Jewish state, a Jewish-Arab alliance ". The issue also reports that America is distancing itself from supporting the partition plan, proposing a special UN Security Council meeting that will recommend temporary UN trusteeship over all of Mandatory Palestine. In response to this initiative, this declaration by Ben-Gurion's is published. Also appears "Dvar Hahaganah" which strengthens Ben-Gurion's words that the Jews of Eretz Israel will not accept any foreign rule. Interior pages report ongoing fighting against the Arabs.
