Arno Nadel [1878-1943] A German-Jewish musician, painter, writer and poet who perished in the Holocaust. Nadel was born in 1878 in the city of Vilnius, which was then an important Jewish center. The wood engravings that appear in the book, Steinhardt made for his poems dealing with the Eastern European Jewish town, and depicting characters and scenes typical of this Judaism.

Each woodcut appears on a separate page. Stains on cover. Slight tear on front cover. general condition good.
