Letter in the handwriting and signature of the leader of Polish Jewry and rabbi of Warsaw before the Holocaust - Rabbi Avraham Zvi Perlmutter - 1911 - the first year in which he honored the Warsaw Rabbinate.

In his letter, the genius addresses the rabbi of Turkey with a request to find out about the husband of a woman who left him without a get (divorce document) due to the fact that he did not behave properly, and the husband moved to live in Turkey. After receiving rumors that the husband may have died, leaving his wife Aguna, the genius asks Rabbi of Turkey to clarify "Are he still alive?", Adding that "it will be kindness to the living and to the dead."

Rabbi Avraham Zvi Perlmutter [1843-1930] One of the most famous Polish geniuses of the pre-Holocaust generation. In 1861 he began serving as rabbi in several communities in Poland and in 1866 was appointed rabbi of Radom. In 1902 he moved to Warsaw and took part in the leadership of the large Jewish community. He took the place of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Liphshitz as head of the Warsaw rabbis. In 1905, he printed his book of Responsa "Damascus Eliezer", to which is attached "Eretz Zvi". One of the founders of Agudat Israel. He died on the 9th of Sivan in 1930 and was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Warsaw, near the "Hemdat Shlomo".
