A rare photograph showing members of the Tiferet Bachurim group in Carouge (Geneva, Switzerland), 1929.

Tiferet Bachurim is a Torah framework set up by the Rebbe HaRayyatz in Russia for young people who wanted to study Torah in the afternoon. The impressive scope of the "Tiferet Bachurim" activity can be learned from a list from the year 1928 written by the HaRait'z, in which he lists the groups existing Moscow, Leningrad, Minsk, Vitebsk, Navel, Veliz, Kiev and Humil. With a total of 600 members. one of the major activities of the Rait'z, was to hold the Tomchey Temimim Yeshiva' in Soviet Russia. The Rebbe recruited teachers, lesson tellers and administrators, and established underground branches in dozens of cities, in order to preserve Jewish and Hasidic embers. "Tiferet Bachurim" expanded and opened branches in other cities, where guys and apprentices gathered for a living in the morning, and spent hours in the afternoon for learning. Before us a rare photograph of the group members in Geneva Switzerland from with a sign that reads: "Tiferet Bachurim ... Chabad, Carouge 1929".

Moderate condition. Fracture throughout the photo. Pasted behind by a printed clipping. Missing tear on the bottom left.
