"For the King's Birthday" A poster on behalf of the Chief Rabbinate of the Land of Israel, calling to the masses to come and pray for the well-being of Malchut on the birthday of His Majesty the King of Great Britain, George V, on the 21st of Sivan 1926, in the Horva Synagogue. The announcement said that the keynote speaker in honor of the day would be Rabbi Kook, as well as the blessing of 'HaNoten Tshuah' would be said in honor of Field Marshal Lord Plummer.

During the years of King George V's reign, several prayer classes were held under the guidance of the great rabbis of the Land of Israel from all circles. His birthdays were celebrated every year, prayers were held for his safety and healing during his illness, many greetings were sent to him, and memorial Ceremonies were held at his death. The king was especially well-liked by the Jewish inhabitants of the Land of Israel, mainly due to the fact that during his reign the Balfour Declaration was issued guaranteeing the establishment of a "Jewish national home". His name was immortalized in Israel by naming a street after him in Jerusalem, and in other cities.

Size: 50x40 cm. Folding marks, good condition.
