William Matthew Flinders Petrie (1853-1942), an English Egyptologist and a pioneer of modern archaeological research. His most famous discovery is the Israel Stele (also known as the Merneptah Stele) which is acceptable by researchers to be the earliest inscription referring the name "Israel". And also discovered the Serbit Hadam temple.
