Two "Shana Tova" postcards showing the synagogues of Vienna - Austria. Early 20th century.

* Postcard divided into ten sights of various synagogues in Vienna. In the center is a Torah scroll with the blessing of Cohanim, the Star of David with the caption 'Zion' , and the blessing of 'Shana Tova'. Tear marks on the back of the postcard, mailed.

* 'Shana Tova' postcard showing two of the synagogues in Vienna, and the schedule of Rosh Hashana prayers, with a 'Shana Tova Tikatevu'' blessing in Hebrew and German. Publish by Gesetzlich geschutzt Vienna.

On the eve of World War II, the annexation of Austria to Germany and the destruction of most of the Jewish community by the Nazi porter, dozens of synagogues were scattered throughout Vienna. At the end of the war, only two survived: the magnificent Great Synagogue and the synagogue in Judenplatz Square, erected on the remains of the ancient synagogue.

General condition good.
