Two handwritten and signature letters by the genius Rabbi Yehoshua Leib Levinson - Mashgiach of Radin Yeshiva. 1932. Urgent request for assistance to the Radin Yeshiva at the end of Chaim's life, which situation 'horrible above any imagination'.

The letters were sent to the genius Rabbi Meir Berniker (father of Rabbi Michal Berniker, late head of Yeshivat Netzach Yisrael, who was involved in assisting Yeshivas in Europe before the Holocaust), before his trip to the United States to work for holding the Radin Yeshiva. In a letter from the month of Adar 1932, the Gaon is praised Rabbi Berniker and asks American Jewry to join him and assist for the benefit of the yeshiva in all that they can: "The situation of the yeshiva is terrible over any imagination and by the rabbi we asked you to give us a quick help to save the yeshiva maybe you can find it?"

Rabbi Yehoshua Leib Levinson - [1890-1943], son of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Levinson (1863-1921, mashgiach of the Radin Yeshiva, and son-in-law of Maran Hefetz Chaim). Married to Fruma Liba, daughter of Rabbi Ya'akov Moshe Sapir - served as Mashgiach of Radin Yeshiva and served as the physical director during her last years, under his father. His wife Fruma Liba Levinson and their eight children perished at the beginning of World War II and Rabbi Joshua Levinson himself perished in the Dachau concentration camp in 1943.
