GIGANTIC RELIEF - Two large tables of children's papercutting from the Victorian era - the peak of the British Empire in the 19th century. The leading edition of souvenir manufacturer Raphael Tuck & Sons. England, 1892. Rare.

Table A: 139 papercutting of miniature children's figures in vivid colors (3 cm height for each child papercutting) in various period costumes.

Table B: 56 papercutting of children's figures in vivid colors with various period costumes (4.5 cm height for each child papercutting).

The distribution factory of English Jewish Tuck was established in London in the early 1870s. In the world of souvenirs in the form of "prizes", the first-ever postcards, and photographs, Tuck and his sons' agency held a place of honor. His works were considered groundbreaking at the time, and due to the uncompromising quality of his works, he was chosen to supply graphic materials to the British royal court. Tuck employed the best graphic artists and designers, and due to the demand, supplied his products to the non-Jewish population as well. In the last decade of the 19th century, Tuck's agency opened a branch for distributing its merchandise on Broadway in New York, during which the agency excelled in printing Jewish 'Happy New Year' postcards.

It is rare to find complete tables with the children's figures connected to one another and never detached.

[2] tables: 29x20 cm. Very good condition.
