Ukrainian Orphans in Kiryat Sefer Eretz Yisrael, published by "HaMeir" Cairo, Egypt, 1921. Hebrew and English. A photo booklet of teachers and students of the Kiryat Sefer agricultural school founded by educator and Bilu movement founder Israel Belkind. The photos in the album were taken by one of Kiryat Sefer's students, an orphan of the Kishinev pogroms, photographer David Nashar, and document scenes from the school during its brief existence. Copy belonging to Rabbi Yehuda Leib HaCohen Maimon with his Ex-Libris.

At the beginning of the album appears the agricultural school Kiryat Sefer's statement of purpose: "The goal of Kiryat Sefer is to educate the youth of Israel in working the land so they can live in dignity from the labor of their hands in Eretz Israel".

21 black and white photos, including: portrait of Israel Belkind, "The orphans with their teachers at Kiryat Sefer", "During prayer", "Lesson under the trees", "Working in the kitchen", "Working in the vegetable garden", "A boat built by one of the orphans, and its engineer", and more. All the photos except two were taken by one of the students of "Kiryat Sefer". All the photos have captions in Hebrew and English.
In 1901 Belkind received approval from the Zionist Congress to establish the "Kiryat Sefer" agricultural school in Eretz Israel, and in 1903, following the Kishinev pogroms, he brought a group of orphans, children of those murdered in the pogroms, to educate them at his school. The school closed about three years later.
