Early Letter written and signed by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook from the period he sat on the throne in Jaffa - 1911.
In his Letter Rabbi Kook asks the rabbis of the Ashkenazic Beit Din in Jerusalem:
"To send us an expert ritual slaughterer and checker, whom the Badatz select as outstanding in Torah and fear of G-d ... and he will receive a generous salary, commensurate with his work." 12th of Tevet, 1911.
Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook [1865-1935] The great leader of religious Zionism, a Possek, a genius in all of the Torah Paths, Kabalist. He served as rabbi of Zamel and Boisek, in the land of Israel as rabbi of Jaffa and the colonies, and later of Ashkenazi rabbi of Jerusalem. Established the Chief Rabbinate of Eretz Israel and served as the first Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi. Founder of the "World Central Yeshiva" - Merkaz HaRav.
