Six photographs from the inauguration of the Saar 3 missile vessel, which operated in the service of the Israeli Navy, 14/10/1969.
The "Saar 3" Hanit Navy vessel was built in Normandy, France. Due to the arms embargo imposed by France on Israel, the ships were smuggled to Israel in Operation Noa. It was the model of the ship that used a 76 mm cannon in the days before a terrorist ship in September 1972.
The ship took an active part in the Yom Kippur War in attacks on the port of Latakia in Syria, and during the First Lebanon War. In 1988, upon completion of her service, the ship was handed over to the Chilean Navy.
In the photographs: the sign of the ship's signboard, the naval parade at the base of the ship, the audience of invitees, and more.
