An important, and rare collection of 14 photographs showing pioneers from the city of Bialystok of the Third Aliyah, after immigrating to Israel in Tel Aviv. Among them are seven group photographs of young people from this aliyah, and the rest are family and friends' photographs, all from Bialystok. Tel Aviv 1920-1922.

The photographs are handwritten: "Bialystokians in the country in 1921", or "Bialystokians in the Brenner neighborhood of Tel Aviv, 1922". Some of the photos show the group of immigrants in Berlin on their way to Israel.

As early as 1883, some 60 members of the Bialystok community immigrated to Eretz Israel and settled in Petah Tikva and Yahud, where they established a name for their city. Already then, the group has been dubbed the "Bialystokians" group, as appears in the photographs before us 30 years later. After World War I, about one-sixth of all immigrants, were pioneers, who came to Israel infused with a sense of mission and sacrifice, and with a strong desire to carry on the sovereign nation building in Eretz Israel. Their influence on the settlement and the institutions of the Zionist movement was considerable. Approximately 31% were from Poland, and in particular, this was the young and pioneering part of the country that came to Israel in 1918 to 1923. Some of the Bialystok immigrants settled in the Brenner neighborhood, which was established in 1922 on Moyal lands. In total, the neighborhood numbered about 315 families living in dilapidated barracks.

general condition good . In some of the photographs there are signs of tearing from an album on their backs..
