A large collection of internal documents and Protocols of Bnei Brit meetings of the Bialik Chamber in Tel Aviv. 1930s and 1940s.

The Independent Order of "Bnei Brit" is a Jewish social organization founded in New York in 1843, by twelve immigrants from Germany, led by Henry Jones. The principles of the "Bnei Brit" are generally the same as the principles of the Freemasonry, but because many Masonic lodges made joining them in belonging to the Christian religion, the Jews therefore needed a separate solution. The members of the organization worked to unite the people of Israel under common principles of morality and unity, and established bureaus all over the world.

In Eretz Yisrael, the first bureau was established in 1888, and its members included Rabbi Avraham Moshe Luntz, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, David Yellin, and Yisrael Dov Frumkin. It was the first organization in Eretz Israel to conduct its meetings in Hebrew. In Eretz Israel, the organization established the first Hebrew kindergarten and a large Hebrew library. Its members fought in the Rules of the Turkish government against the aliyah of Jews, and against the ban on the sale of property to Jews. In 1929, the Bnei Brit Conference convened in Zichron Yaacov, and the mayor of Tel Aviv, Mr. Meir Dizengoff, was elected president of the conference. The conference discussed current issues such as the expansion of the organization's activities in Eretz Israel and the continued struggle against mission and foreign education in the country, the continued issuance of the organization's Boltin and other practical decisions.

The collection of internal documents before us documents the activities of the Bialik Chamber - Bnei Brit Agudat Horin, Tel Aviv, in the 1930s and 1940s. Hundreds of 'internal' documents dealing with the attitude of the Bureau to the Zionist Movement, minutes of meetings dealing with the principles of the organization and its activities in relation to other bureaus, the appointment of members, the planning of 'closed meetings', and more.

* About 200 letters in handwriting and typewriter, which were exchanged between members of the organization and the various bureaus in the country (including the "Sha'ar Zion" bureau, "Yaakov", "the Galilee" and others). Most of them are from 1945 and 1946.

• About 100 documents, most of them typewritten and handwritten, including minutes of meetings, reports, lists of members and other documents. Most of them are from the late 1930s.

A total of about 300 items, some of which are filed in an old booklet of the association. Some of the documents are handwritten signatures of the heads of the bureaus and ink stamps.

The organization actually exists to this day, and is one of the largest Jewish organizations in the world.

General condition good. Tears in the folder cover.
