A photograph of Italian fascist Benito Mussolini as his body was hanged at the Milan station by Italian partisans, alongside his collaborators. April 29, 1945.
Benito Mussolini ruled Italy tyrannically from 1922 to 1943 completely abolished democratic rule and replaced it with a fascist and tyrannical rule. On April 28, 1945, Mussolini and his mistress, and the fifteen people they were with, were shot down by their partisan captors. The next day, Mussolini's bodies and mistress were taken to Milan, and the crowds gathered there abused them. The bodies were then hung with their heads down from the roof of a gas station in the city. The photo can be seen alongside Muslini himself Nicola Bombacci, Gelormini, his mistress Clara Petacci, Alessandro Pavolini and Achille Starace.
