In his letter, Maran seeks to donate his money to Kollel Hordana and emphasizes that even though he has no personal responsibility for it, in the guise of charity, "It is right to give from my own", and blesses the helpers.

Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzanski [1863 - 1940], one of the greatest Torah scholars and leaders of the generation in Lithuania in the period before the Holocaust, a prominent Posek in his time, an architect of faithful Judaism, and president of the Council of Torah Scholars, author of 'Ahiezer'. One of the designers and navigators of the Lithuanian ultra-Orthodox Judaism throughout the world, for generations.
