Charity Box 'Hevrat Rochtzim' - iron. Europe, late 18th / early 19th century.

A charity box made of cast iron. In the center is an engraving work of the inscription: "Hevrat Rochtzim". Lid with a slot attached to the hinge, and a tab for locking. And carrying handle.

"Hevrat Rochtzim" are part of the Hevreh Kadisha, their function is to bathe the deceased, each limb separately in a special order, reciting verses from the Song of Songs, and then pouring over the whole body of the deceased 9 cabins of water.
