The Zion Blumenthal Orphanage, which was founded at the initiative of the Ottoman Empire, By Rabbi Avraham Yochanan Blumenthal, is the oldest active Jewish orphanage in the world, and continues to exist continuously in Jerusalem from the end of World War I (1917), under the management of the same family. Over the years, thousands of children have been educated at the institution.
