100 postcards showing dozens of European synagogues, some postcards from the Eastern Countries and United States. Various publishers, Late 19th to 1930s.

The postcards, printed from the end of the 19th century to the first decades of the 20th century, show photographs of synagogues in dozens of cities and towns throughout Europe In the countries: Belgium, Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, Czech Republic, Serbia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Russia, Hungary, Romania, Italy, Germany, France. In some of the postcards synagogues from the eastern countries and the US .

Most of the postcards are all "synagogue postcards", ie postcards that initially appeared as a postcard showing the synagogue only, with the "synagogue" caption, unlike postcards which showing a landscape of the place in which the synagogue is only part it, These sort of postcards are almost not appear in the collection. In the collection a variety of dozens of architectural styles typical to European synagogues, most of which are showing the exterior of the synagogue, with a minority of interior appearance. Many of the synagogues that apear in the collection were destroyed during the Holocaust (especially the Germans on Kristallnacht), and some were not rebuilt after it.

In the collection a rare postcards that do not appear in 'old jewish postcards' by Marek Sosenko the Krakow Museum 1999, nor do they appear in 'Image et traditions juives' by Gerard Silvain, France 1980.
