"What will happen to the Jewish people in fifty years ...". In November 1975, Golda Meir was asked to speak for Pioneer women in America on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its founding. In a color unknown video, which is here first revealed, for about 10 minutes, Golda turn to the Jews of the United States with instructive and exciting speech, inter alia interpreting her vision for the next 50 years. Watch video and original audio! As far as we know Unique and only copy in the whole world! Photographed, apparently, at Golda Meir's home in Tel Aviv.

The video in witch Golda Meir turn to the Jewish people in the United States in their language, appears with no interview questions as Golda Meir speaks in length, straight to a camera placed very close in front of her. In the typical seriousness, composure, and clearly, Ms. Golda Meir looks to the camera in a chilling historical speech on the fate of the Jewish people and the fate of the State of Israel. In addition to expressing sympathy, closeness, and warmth toward the Jews of the United States, Golda did not refrain from uttering harsh criticism and demand, towards a huge public from which she expects more involvement in public life in Israel, and more in partnership with the fate of the Jewish people.

In the beginning, Golda sums up the past 50 years which she says: "The most dramatic, tragic, and beautiful period in the history of the Jewish people ever." After a few minutes in them Golda talks about the wonderful growth of the 'Pioneer women' organization that began with a few single women, and the difficult challenges they faced in the beginning, she appeals with a passionate words to the American population about Israel's current needs: "As you know we have a lot of problems ... a lot of needs ... I would not hesitate to say that need number one is as quickly as possible one million Jews in Israel... If we have that many of our difficulties, military difficulties, political difficulties, misunderstanding If I choose to use this word, With our neighbors and sometimes with our friends - 1 million Jews in Israel will change the situation radically...".

In her remarks Golda speaks of a fateful issue related to the fate of American Jews, and to Jewish education in America which she says is now in existential danger .. "In addition to Aliya there must be a very strong empathy to Jewish education. We are in Israel see ourselves responsible not only for those Jews that are here, and not only for the state... But I am convinced that Israel, and the Jewish people, the future of the Jewish people are Interdependent, One cannot exist without the other. And sometimes sad thoughts come to mind, what going to be in the future of the jews as long as they are not here... What is going to happen to the next generation and the generation after that, What is going to happen 50 years from now...We look forward 50 years from now what will the jewish people be, how many of the children and grandchildren... if they remain in the states or in latin America or in Europe, Or wherever they may be Without education i hate to think What might happen..."

In her speak, Golda hints at the danger of the assimilation, the loss of the jewish people through what she calls "love", and the Jewish people's drift to American culture. History has taught that the Jewish people may lose their sons in two ways: the one, physical brutality, pogroms, Holocaust , "I'm not talking about these possibilities" Second, the Jewish people may lose out of "love", by marriage (with non-Jews), and adding: "children who do not know Jewish history, do not know intimately what is happening in Israel, do not know our literature, do not know our language- are strangers..."

The speech ends with Golda Meir's greetings :"so all the best to you with all my admiration and all my love and may you and me together see israel and peace".

PIONEER WOMEN, founded in New York City in 1925, by an idealist group of women who were part of the Eastern European immigrant generation. The organization provided welfare services for women, young people and children, and new immigrants to Israel, and also encouraged Jewish women in the United States to take a more active role in Jewish community life and American civic affairs. At the beginning, most of the organization's members spoke Yiddish. After World War II, the organization has a large network of projects dealing with culture and welfare in Israel. In 1970, the organization numbered about 150,000 women worldwide. Beginning in 1981, the organization merged with several sub-organizations. As of 2005, the number of companies in the United States began to decline and it numbered 25,000 companies in total.
