A notice and a great warning' wrote a boycott against the thieves of the manuscripts of Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari - a rare poster in which the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld participated. R. Printing Press. H. HaCohen Yerushalayim, c -1930.

'Since we have learned that the manuscripts of the late Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari have disappeared and we must fear that a hand has touched them - we warn of this and impose the power of our Holy Torah and the boycott on all those who took these manuscripts or any sort of thing belonging to the late Rabbi To bring him back to the office of the Chief Rabbinate of the Land of Israel, and who will not be answered by all the gods of the Torah ... '.

The banner was signed by the Chief Rabbinate of the Land of Israel in cooperation with the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld who added: "I have come yet again ... because it is true that they decreed the disappearance of the holy handwriting of the late Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari ..."

It is rare to find a joint reading between the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld. Rabbi Alfandari was a strong opponent of Zionism, the Mizrachi movement, and Agudath Israel, and even wrote letters against the Zionist movement. This was part of the path of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld. On the other hand, he regarded Rabbi Kook as one of the greatest rabbis of his generation, and was also friendly with his disciple Hagaon Harlap, who was greatly appreciative of the Chief Rabbinate, and a special appreciation was given to Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld of Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari, it is reported that Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld entered the Shaare Zedek Hospital to visit Rabbi Alfandari While he was hospitalized there. After the visit, Rabbi Yosef Chaim would sit on the floor for Rabbi Alfandari to lay his hands on his head and bless him.

In the book 'Orot mimizrach' by Rabbi Aharon Suraski it is written that Rabbi Alfandari shelved his writings and only a tiny number were printed by his disciple Rabbi Asher Zelig Margaliot. Later, long answers were printed by the followers of Munkacs. Among his printed works are: Responsa Maharsha Alfandari [Jerusalem 1931 where Rabbi Yitzchak Nissim mentions the introduction of his writings upon his death], and the book Gedolei Eretz on the Karaite sect.

The grandfather of Kadishah, the Kabbalist Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari [1830 -1930]: the Hakham Bashi of Damascus for twenty-five years, and later of Safed. Used to combine the words of the Rishonim with the rulings of the great Kabbalists of the Ari and the Rashash. He had a great old age and we would never need eyeglasses even though he used to study in antique books in a small print.

Rare poster. Does not appear in the Efamra collection in the National Library.

Size: 34x38 cm, few Creases, very fine condition.
